KazMunayGas is attentive to its obligations – Alik Aidarbayev

On July 22, 2020, Chairman of the Management Board of JSC NC "KazMunayGas" (hereinafter – KMG) Alik Aidarbayev paid a working visit to Atyrau region. During the meeting with Akim of the region Makhambet Dosmukhambetov, the head of KMG discussed the epidemiological situation at KMG enterprises in the region, as well as the sponsorship provided to combat the pandemic of coronavirus infection. "Our subsidiaries of the region actively cooperate with the akimat of the region and allocate significant funds to provide assistance to the population and medical institutions. For example, Embamunaigas allocated 300 million tenge. With these funds, medical equipment and medicines necessary for the population of the region were purchased, as well as food, household appliances, hygiene products and personal protective equipment were purchased for quarantine hospitals. We believe that it is everyone's duty to provide all possible assistance at this difficult time for everyone," A. Aidarbayev said . In addition, the head of KMG held a conference call with the participation of the heads of subsidiaries of the region, where issues of current activities, implementation of the anti-crisis strategy, combating the pandemic and strict compliance with sanitary and anti-epidemic measures were discussed. Alik Aidarbayev expressed his condolences to the families and loved ones of the workers who died from coronavirus infection and pneumonia, and also wished a speedy recovery to the sick colleagues. The Chairman of the Board of KMG also visited the Atyrau Oil Refinery, where he got acquainted with the progress of planned repairs and inspected the building of a new medical center created on the basis of PPP on the basis of the ANPZ health center. In a medical center equipped with modern medical equipment, factory workers will receive qualified medical care right on the territory of the plant. It is important to note that there is an isolation zone in the center, where workers will be immediately delivered in case of symptoms of Covid-19. A. Aidarbayev drew the attention of the plant's management to the complaints of residents of Atyrau. "Residents of the city have repeatedly expressed their dissatisfaction with the unpleasant smell, the source of which is the fields of evaporation in the left-bank part of the city, the so-called "Rotten Beam". We know this problem. But let's talk openly. Drains to the "Rotten Beam" come from two sources – from the city and the ANPZ. At the same time, for several decades, most of the pollution has been accounted for by urban sewage, which does not undergo any treatment, whereas mechanical and biological treatment facilities have long been installed at the plant, which meet all the necessary standards and requirements. Moreover, they are regularly upgraded. Meanwhile, the city is only now building sewage treatment plants. Of course, as a socially responsible company, we will take part in the reclamation of this field, we will take maximum care of the environment of the region and its inhabitants. But people need to understand how the current problem was historically formed. In this regard, I consider it necessary to interact more closely with the public figures of the region and constantly explain the work carried out by the plant," the head of KMG instructed. In turn, the General Director of ANPZ LLP Sh. Danbai spoke about the progress of "Tazalyq" project. According to him, design and survey work on the reconstruction of mechanical treatment facilities has been completed by 90%, and engineering surveys have been carried out on the modernization of biological treatment facilities. Design and survey work on the project of recultivation of evaporation fields has been completed by 60%. The next object of the working visit of the management of KMG was the construction site of the Integrated Gas Chemical Complex – KPI. To date, the progress of the project is 73.5%. Concrete works, installation of underground and aboveground pipelines, installation of metal structures, sandwich panels, water storage tanks, etc. are being carried out at the facility. For various objects, the construction progress ranges from 51 to 97 percent. The least progress is made by the work on the manufacture of pipe assemblies and installation of technological pipelines. This is due to the quarantine regime, which is why some of the workers were transferred to remote operation. Also, due to the ban on air travel, some of the foreign specialists who perform the most difficult work and installation of special equipment could not come to the country. Recall that the project of the integrated gas chemical complex was transferred under the management of KMG in June 2018. Since then, the construction has entered an active phase of implementation. The complex will produce up to 500 thousand tons of polypropylene per year.
