KMG allocated 2.6 billion tenge to fight the coronavirus pandemic

On July 20, 2020, Chairman of the Management Board of JSC NC "KazMunayGas" (hereinafter – KMG) Alik Aidarbayev met with the head of the region Serikbay Trumov during a working visit to the Mangystau region and discussed the epidemiological situation at KMG enterprises and the measures taken by the company to further non-proliferation of coronavirus. During the meeting, the Head of KMG also spoke about the sponsorship and charitable assistance provided by KazMunayGas to the population of the region. "From the very first days we joined the common fight against the pandemic. The company takes care of the population of the regions in which it operates. "KazMunayGas has already provided sponsorship totaling 2.6 billion tenge, including 1.8 billion tenge in Mangystau region. With these funds, targeted assistance was provided for the purchase of medical equipment, reanimobiles, oxygen concentrators and ventilators, which were urgently needed. Also, KMG subsidiaries provided akimats and medical institutions with transport, personal protective equipment, as well as food baskets for low-income families. We will continue to provide all possible support to doctors and local authorities in the overall fight against coronavirus infection," A. Aidarbayev said at the meeting. During his visit, Alik Aidarbayev got acquainted with the activities of the medical center in Aktau, which conducts PCR testing of employees of KMG subsidiaries and service companies who take over the watch. Up to 200 people are tested per day, which makes it possible to identify infected COVID-19 and prevent the spread of the disease at production facilities. In addition, in Zhanaozen, Alik Aidarbayev held a conference call with the participation of the heads of JSC Ozenmunaigas, JSC Mangistaumunaigas, JSC Karazhanbasmunai and service enterprises. During the meeting, issues of current activities, the implementation of the anti-crisis strategy, the fight against the pandemic and strict compliance with sanitary and anti-epidemic measures were discussed. A. Aidarbayev also expressed his condolences to the families and loved ones of the workers who died from coronavirus infection and pneumonia, and also wished a speedy recovery to the sick colleagues. "Unfortunately, our colleagues have also become victims of the virus. Each of them was part of a large family of KazMunayGas and contributed to the development of the company. This is an irreparable loss for all of us. The bright memory of them will forever remain in our hearts," Alik Aidarbayev said. In Zhanaozen, the head of KMG visited a medical rehabilitation center for children with disabilities, which is scheduled to open in September this year. Ozenmunaigas JSC allocated 50 million tenge for the repair and preparation of premises for the center. Up to 700 children a year can undergo rehabilitation at the center. In addition, Alik Aidarbayev got acquainted with the activities of the pharmacological center on the basis of Ozenmunaigas JSC, which deployed 65 reserve beds for unloading urban infectious diseases hospitals. It is noted that the capacity of the dispensary center is up to 500 patients per day. The head of KMG instructed the management of Ozenmunaigas JSC to take measures to provide the medical center with the necessary equipment. It is expected that in the future it will function as a full-fledged medical center for the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of employees of Ozenmunaigas JSC, as well as their family members. Background information on the sponsorship provided in the Mangistau region, Mangistaumunaigas JSC allocated 475 million tenge for the purchase of a computed tomography device, which will soon be available to the Mangistau Regional Hospital. 20 ventilators and three reanimobiles worth over 817 million tenge were purchased for local medical institutions. Oil workers of the production department of Zhetybaymunaigas on a voluntary basis organized the collection, refueling and delivery of oxygen cylinders to local hospitals. With the sponsorship of the company, 9 highly qualified infectious diseases doctors, pulmonologists, therapists, resuscitators from the Russian Federation arrived in Aktau. Ozenmunaigas JSC purchased 2 new specialized reanimobiles with a total cost of 40 million tenge for the city hospital of Zhanaozen. The company is actively involved in supporting Zhanaozen's vital activity during the quarantine period. Thus, the company provided 6 infrared thermal imagers and several units of specialized equipment for disinfection work in the city. For the needs of the city hospital, the NGO "Local Trade Union of Workers of "Ozenmunaigas" purchased 10 oxygen concentrators in the amount of 5 million tenge, 4 patient monitors in the amount of 6.9 million tenge, 100 oxygen reducers, 150 meters of oxygen hose in the amount of 723 thousand tenge. JSC "Karazhanbasmunai" provided sponsorship to the Akimat of Mangystau region in the total amount of 20 million tenge for the purchase of oxygen concentrators for infectious and dispensary hospitals of the region. To help the akimat of Tupkaragan district, 7.4 million tenge was allocated for the purchase of oxygen concentrators, medical equipment and personal protective equipment for a dispensary hospital. In the near future, the company intends to send another 43.5 million tenge to pay for the expenses of the attracted group of doctors from the Russian Federation and purchase the necessary medicines. By the end of this month, NMSK Kazmortransflot LLP plans to transfer 20 artificial lung ventilation devices and personal protective equipment to the Akimat of Mangystau region for further distribution to medical institutions. The total amount of assistance provided is more than 320 million tenge. JV CASPI BITUM LLP paid for a month's stay in the hotel for nine doctors who arrived from the Russian Federation. KazGPP LLP has allocated 100 protective suits for a multidisciplinary city hospital.
